About Chilly
Embrace: Performance invites you to dive into the wintry world of Chilly - an immersive online show featuring at-home tactile play. Join your intrepid tour guide, Mister Zooie Kazooie, on a quest to find the mysterious creature, Chilly. Will Chilly be found in time?
Chilly is a unique experience, created and performed by neurodivergent, disabled, and non-disabled performers. What was originally an in-person art installation and performance piece is now an online show for everyone to enjoy. This light-hearted quest was written by local artists Adam Irwin-Gunn & Tiffany Tjosvold. The show will be available online from February 5 - 7, 2021 and audiences of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
For audience members based in Greater Victoria, the show is enriched with the addition of an interactive tactile map that aligns with the story and provides an opportunity for audiences to engage with tactile fun and imaginative play in their own space.
Basic Show Information
Where: Available online via password protected link
When: February 5th, 6th, 7th, 2021.
The online recording will be available for audience members any time from February 5th at 5:00pm PST until February 7th at 5:00pm PST.
Length: Current estimates of run time of the online component are somewhere in the 20- 25 minute range, with opportunity for further tactile play afterwards. An accurate run time will be listed once the final edit has been completed.
Cost: By Donation. If you are unable to donate at this time, you are still welcome to enjoy the show.

Tactile Maps
Audiences based on Greater Victoria will be able to have a special tactile map to engage with as a part of their Chilly experience, at no additional charge. The maps provide opportunity for hands on participation during the show and provide opportunity for creative play afterward.
These maps will be available for pick up on the following days:

January 30th from 2pm - 4pm at Cadboro-Gyro Park (Sinclair Rd)

February 4th from 6pm - 8pm at Intrepid Theatre (1609 Blanshard St #2)
While our aim is to have a physically distanced pick up - we ask that you wear masks or face shields when coming to collect your map.
If you are unable to pick up your board due to access reasons, we may be able to deliver your board. Check out our accessibility information for the map of the range are are able to support.

If you register on Saturday night - Chilly will be sent to you by Sunday at noon. If you register between 12pm - 4pm - you will receive Chilly at 4pm. The absolute last time to register for Chilly and still receive access is Sunday at 4:00pm.
