Class Style Descriptions
Our adapted dance classes are created to get students moving! These classes use a wide variety of dance styles hand-picked to best meet the needs of the group (ex. tap, hip hop, dance fitness, musical theatre, etc.) Our adapted classes focus on finding the joy in dance, fostering independence, and learning simple choreography. These are best suited for individuals who thrive with consistency & structure.
Mixed Ability Dance
Our mixed ability dance classes are focused on making space for dancers of all abilities create together. In these classes participants explore movement by way of improvisation and a wide variety of dance activities – These classes differ from our adapted classes as they are not focused on learning any particular style but rather aim to make space for dance students to create using their unique physical abilities.
These classes for children explore different forms of movement through a variety of dance based games and activities. Dance exploration classes emphasize play, safe movement of the body, positive social interaction, and the ability to respond to music.
